Open Sea XII
When The Horizon No Longer Feels Forbidden

the body
The outer sea
the sea receives
the storm enters
Nothing is refused
i stopped
insisting
on being
elsewhere

The Soul
the inner sea
The Sea remembers
memory
longing
the unconscious
attachment
moon tide
loss
love
the open voyage
encompasss
everything

the spirit
the greater sea
the sea abides
because
it was
here
before us
it remains
after us
beyond us
it witnesses every crossing
it holds continuity
wtihout demanding sameness
it remains
a witness
to the present
The sea gave
enough open water
to become
who I had not
been before

depth · breadth·distance
Permission to live
from the depth
that grief uncovered
the sea remembers
death is not the only tide
that redraws a coastline
Different stories
the same sea
divorce
betrayal
the slow disappearance
inside a relationship
illness
caregiving
expectation to be who you are not
the life
that never had room
to become itself
every crossing
alters the map
this is the lifelong work
of becoming
at home
within one’s own soul
